DISTRICT EXECUTIVES

AUCKLAND. May 10. Entertained a number of the mothers of the men of the Fighting Forces to afternoon tea in honour of Mother’s Day. The District President, Mrs. Hugh Kasper, presided. Songs were rendered by Mrs. Walsh, the accompanist being Mrs. Gordon. Extracts and poems appropriate to Mother’s Day were given by Mrs. Kasper, Mrs. Williams, and Miss Read. May 26. Held an “All Day of Prayer” for our Empire. Mrs. H. Kasper presided. The \arious sessions were led by Miss A. McLog, Miss Karner, Mrs. Long. Sister Jessie, Sister North, Sister Alice, and Miss Read. Fair attendance at each session. SOUTH CANTERBURY. Timaru. — May 13. Mrs. Robinson presided and conducted devotions. Good attendance and full representation. Sympathy with the relatives of the late Mrs. T. E. Taylor, also with the Dominion officers. Sympathy also passed with Mrs. Hinnie, President of Opawa Union. Mrs. Robinson also remembered the bereaved relatives of those men in our district who have died on Active Service. "A Statement of Facts” was discussed, also the proposed Promise Card Petition. The President presented a very interesting and full report for Convention.

Wellington.—June 6. Mrs. Sired o|>ened the meeting with prayer. Decided that each j>erson working with the petition should l>c supplied with a “Statement of Facts.” The President to wire for a further supply of petitions and “Statement of Facts.” Also that where there was no Union the Ministers were to he asked to assist with this work. Mrs. Tanner to he responsible for Island Bay with helpers. Mrs. Lopdell decided to give the petitions to their Church Presbytery meeting ... June 9th. Also to ask the Methodist Church to use the same at their Synod on June 10th. Miramar to he worked through the Ministers of the respective churches; - iohnsonville to work Ngaio-Khandallah. Mrs. \\ or!>oys to be asked to help with Thorndon district. Mrs. Walker and Rands to do Hataitai; detailed arrangements made for Mrs. Patterson’s meetings on June 13th. Decided to send the following protest to Dominion Officers: “That the Wellington District protest against the use of Government money

for the manufacture ot wines and spirits.’’ Resolved: Wellington District has noted the appeal in the “White Ribbon” that if the Y.P Supplement he printed on a separate form it would he more useful, and they intend to make an effort to help in some wav.
