Taranaki. August Hth. At Mrs. Jenkins’, Rllham. JO members present. Mrs. Hayward, I fistrict President, presided. Mrs. Jenkins conducted devotions, and at tlu* close spoke of the “Sixth Column’’ and invited members to join up with this movement. I >eej> concern expressed at suggestion t«> introduce wet canteen into militarv camp at Waiouru. Resolved that all Unions and members send letters to Prime Minister and M.P.’s. New Plymouth reported organising sewing meetings, etc., among the Maori peojdc. Very interesting F'vangelistic work reported at N.P Sailor s’ Rest Sunday evening services. Miss I )revv reported JIK) entrants for Temperance Kxaniination. heeling reference was made to the passing away of Mrs. k. Jones, <>t \.P., and one time of Xgaire, and <»t Mrs. Ilischoff, of Hawera. Iloth had rendered loving and efficient service Mrs. Rischoff as District Cradle R II Supt., and Mrs. Jones as District Secretary for many years. In the afternoon members attended the monthly meeting of Kltham Union. \ paper on the Temperance Movement was given by Mrs. Williams.
