A NEW YEAR MESSAGE.

Beloved Comrades, — We now stand face to face with a New Year of service. 1935 lies behind us. For a moment pause and listen to its message. Perhaps the first thought is disappointment for victory still delayed. But the inmost soul of us must rejoice because, in spite of opposition and inertia, we have hold our line unbroken. Not a thing won by mir heroes of the past has been lost; but with a little more energy and a deeper faith how much might have ben won. us carry this lesson from 1935 into the New Year and resolve that 193*1 shall witness these greater deeds. The needs of the New Year are edu«at ion and inspiration. Educate ourselves that we may he able to give to all enquirers a reason for the faith that is in us. By voice and pen educate others; make use of our otTii ial organ and our Literature Department! Inspiration! What is it? The breathing into us of the Breath of Clod. Inspired by the deep, inward conviction that (Jod bus called us, not only as an organisation, but every individual meml>er to “1 ’repa re the wav of the Lord.” To remove the stones of stumbling and the rocks of offence. liet us for a moment take our stand with Moses on the shores of the Bed Sea. Listen to the word of complaint: “It were letter we had died in Egypt.” Hear again the won! of faith: “Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord” Then catch the ringing word of command from God Himself: “Speak to the children of Israel that they go forward.” Our word to you, our l>eloved comrades, for 1936 is FORWARD! Prepare for an educational and an inspirational Convention. Faith and i nergy cun do much, even In two short months.

1. Gain new members. F'ery Union can add at least one ne** memlier to their roll. 2. Get new readers and subscribers to our paper. Increased circulation means that a wider circle ure reading “facts" instead of fiction about prohibition, it also means increased finance and an improved paper. I>ear fellow-workers, begin at once to educate for the next poll. Delays are dangerous. Organise and educate Y branches. Many of their members w P tie first \oters at the next poll. And ever may we bear in mind that we enlisted until “Death or Victory.” No matter what others are doing. Or what they are leaving undone, We are counting on you to keep right on Till the very last Imttle is won. We aiv counting on you to be faithful We are counting on you to l>e true. Yes, others may work, or others mat shirk, But, remember, we are counting on you. Signed: JESSIE HIET, President. M PATERSON. Vlce-Pres. C. HENDERSON, Cor. Sec C. E KIRK, Rec. Sec. M B. LOVKLL-SMITH.
