DISTRICT EXECUTIVES.

A CCKLANP. A pleasant social gathering was held on Monday morning. November Ith, in the J.O.L. Tea Rooms to do honour to Mrs. Clark, retiring Treasurer of the Auckland District. Mrs. Kasper, District President, expressed her pleasure at seeing so many members present, and after tea, thoroughly enjoyed by all. handed an Oriental Cake Stand to the guest of the occasion in token of the love and appreciation of all the members. Mrs. Clark feeling!) replied and later was presented with a beautiful bouquet of flowers. District Executive followed at 1 p.m. In the Temperance Room. The President presided over an attendance of 28 members —apologies being received from Mesdames Neal, Bloodworth, Burnett, Lewis and Tasker-Brown. Business consisted of:— 1. A “Women’s Crusade Letter" to Im* sent out by members, the receiver to make several copies and send to others asking for votes to abolish the liquor t raffle. 2. A “Spring lan" to lie held on Friday, Sth Novtmber, at 2.30 p m., in St. Matthew’s Hall, Hobson Street, followed with a Jumble Sale at 7 p.m. 3. Resignation of Mrs. Burnett, I >istriot Evangelistic Superintendent, received with regret. Miss McKenzie was appointed to the office. I. Mrs. Cabmgton of Onikei, was appointed as Superintendent of Maor work. 5. Town Hall Temperance Rally to Im* held on Sunday afternoon, 241 ii November, at 2.30 p.m. 6. Church Parade at Airedale Street Mission at 7 o’clock. 7. The following resolution was passed:—“This meeting of the District Executive of the W.C T.C. expresses appreciation of the various Church* s in showing Temperance Poster > on their wayside pulpit boards." 8. possible for them to have District Convention in February, Stratford undertook to again have Convention, for which they were gratefully thanked. Much useful business was got through. SOI TH APCKLANI). The South Auckland District Convention met in Hamilton on Wednesday, October 16th, at 10 a.m. Mrs. J. M. Jones occupied the chair and devotions were taken by Mrs. Peryman. The room was beautifully decorated; conspicuous among many beautiful devices was a lovely white floral bow. The Mayor welcomed the delegates and said he was a life abstainer. He spoke of the brewers’ campaign to secure the youth of both sexes as beer drinkers and spoke of the need to work to save the unwary. Rev. Peat conveyed greetings from the Ministers’ Association, and also from officers of St. Paul’s Church, in whose Hall Convention was meeting. Mrs. Gardiner brought hearty good wishes from the Reehabites. Mrs. Jones. District President, replied and thanked all for their kindly welcomes. Bouquets were presented to Mrs. Jones, Mrs. Craig, Mrs. Davey and Mrs. Peryman. The following Bilious were represented:- Cambridge, Te Awamutu. Hamilton, Fencomt, Tauranga, Thames and Otorohanga. Reports of l'nions showed good work had been done. The Treasurer presented the Balance Sheet, which showed a healthy balance. The noontide prayer was taken by Te A wamutu delegat ion The election of officers resulted: — President, Mrs. Jones, J.P., Hamilton: Vice-President, Mrs. Robinson; Secretary, Mrs. Stephenson Ciaig; Treasurer Mrs. Davey. Luncheon adjournment. 2 p.m. -Convention re-assembled. Devotions were led by Mrs Tozer, Otorohanga. Mrs. Peryman gave an address, speaking specially upon plans of work and the need for earnest endeavour. Brewers wanted boys, let us vote to show that mother love could save the boys from brewers’ greed. “Abide With Me" was splendidly sung by a male visitor. The Rev. H. G. C»ill>ert gave a very stirring address. He stressed the danger to youth and urged all to work and pray. Votes of thanks, and “Ood l>e with You" sung, brought a flue Convention to a close.
