The fact was recently elicited that lieer is carried by rail from Melbourne to Western Australia for £7/1 *4/- a ton. whilst i’ioce» : e>, dress goods, and some other commodities pay approximately £l7/10/- per ton. That such a differentiation should be made is nothing short of a public' scandal. Are brewing dividends to Is* paid out of cash which ought to tie paid into public avenue?
