SUPERINTENDENTS’ LETTERS.

WORK AMONG BACK-BLOCKS. Will all Unions who have not r**ceived Questional res, kindly send in report of work done in connection witli distribution of literature, to me, not later than December 31st. ALICE MOVES. Dorn. Supt. for Back-Blocks. FLOWER AND PHILANTHROPIC DEPARTMENT. Dear Fellow-workers, — The Questionaires have been received by your Unions, and 1 am pleased to say that, already, some are being returned From Riverton, I received the first, from our Sister Mrs. Gray. Though she is in hospital, with a broken leg. her heart is in her work, and she did her part. We will all wish her a good recovery. I trust that such an example of loyalty to duty will inspire many to "Carry on" and “Go forward." The weeks will speedily pass now, so please see that your accounts of kindly deeds rendered, reach me in good time. The report of the year's work will then be a w r orthy one. Loving greetings Sincerely yours, ADA SPENCER. Flower and Philanthropic Dept. PEACE AND ARBITRATION DEPARTMENT. As in last year, these days of stress and strain do not allow the printing of a Questionaire, but. through the medium of the “White Ribbon," I shall be glad to he informed of what you have done, as a Union, this year, in the way of Peace and Arbitration. You have had a splendid opportunity for work these last months, in getting signatures for the Disarmament Petition. With my knowledge and, at my wish, a blank form was sent by the Christchurch Peace Committee to each Union, and the Secretary, in Auckland, of the Women’s International league for Peace and Freedom, sent out hundreds of the league's own forms to all who asked for them. 1 was glad to see that between 30,000 and 40,000 signatures had l>een obtained, but that numl*er ought easily to have i>eer. doubled, or even quadrupled, by the earnest and enthusiastic work of the Union members. Will you please send me word, by December 31st, what the Union has done, following the questions as given l»elow’: — 1. Give name and address of (a) District Superintendent; (b) Local Superintendent of Peace and Arbitration Department. 2. Was the special May Peace Day celebrated in your Union? If so, how? S. (a) How many Disarmament Petition forms were received by your Union? (b) How w-ere they used? (c) How many signatures were obtained (1) by the Union; (2) by you individually?

t. Has any Study Circle l>een held by the Union, or any other means adopted for learning more a!>out Peace? Has anything else been done in connection with this Department? If so, what? Deane send in answers as soon as possible, that the matter may not be neglected. Yours for Peace, KATE M. EVANS, Dom. Supt. P. & A. Dept. Answers to be sent to Mrs. Evans, 62 Nevay Hoad, Miramar, Wellington, by December 31st, 1931.
