A LINK WITH BRITISH WOMEN.
(To the Editor.) Dear Madam, — l l>eg for space to voice an appeal from Miss Harriet C. Newcomb to New Zealand women visiting London, women of the many interests that move White Kibboners It is that they should make time to visit 17 Buckirgham Street, Adelphi, London, W.C., the office of the British Commonwealth League, formerly the British Dominions Women Suffrage League, itself started from New Zealand by Miss Newcomb and Miss M. Hodge in 1912. Under Miss Newcomb’s care, from 1912 to 1923 it functioned widely and well, and focussed attention on many needs of British women at Home and abroad, increasingly, since the war, linking its efforts with those of the International Alliance under Mrs M. Corbett-Ashby. The B.C.L. is now threatened with extinction. owing to lack of interest (and of funds) overseas. The financial pressure is recognised but it is earnestly requested that Horne-going women should at least visit an office which correlates *f\ery branch of work and interest peculiar to the women of (’.renter Britain, opening up fascinating avenues of information and intercourse with leaders of thought and activity today. A recent Conference, Mrs Cor-l>ett-Ashby in the chair, dealt with Economic Openings Overseas, Laws of Inheritance, and the Clash of Cultures, specially as affecting native women. A \isit to such a centre will greatly enlarge the horizon and add to the pleasure of New Zealand travellers at Home. Yours for women. JESSIE MACK AY
