Mlli> E. H. CRABB. It is with deep regret that we record the passing on of Mrs E. H. Crabb, of Palmerston North. Mrs Crabb had resided lor 21 years in Palmerston North, and took a leading part in all that made for the social and moral uplift of humanity. She was one of the first women members of the Palmerston North Hospital Board, and the first woman J.P. in that town. She was a memlier of !he Y.W.C.A. Board and of the College Street School Committee. For 11 years she held the position o. President of the local W.C.T.U., was District President before Wellington and Manuwatu were divided. She held the position of Dominion VicePresident, and during the absence ol Mrs Don in England she was actingPresident, in whicn capacity she presided over the Dominion Convention held in Wellington in 1920. Her fel-low-officers loved he.. She was bright, cheery, and helpful, an earnest seeker after truth, and one who loved mercy and walked humbly w ith her God. Willard Home stands as a lasting tribute to her memory, and bears witness to her passionate love for children. She v\as the founder of that Home, and for eight years was President of the brave band of women whose labours built up that splendid institution. Its welfare was always dear to her, and the last time she was out was to attend the Willard Home Birthday Party. Mrs Crabb was at her best in her own home, and many of her fellow'-officers have memories of happy times spent under her hospitable roof. We sympathise most deeply with her husband and family in the loss of such a wife and mother. MISS ELLEN MARY SMITH. Invercargill Union has suffered a severe loss in the deatli of its President, Miss {Smith, and the District Union has lost a fine Treasurer. Her life had been spent in Invercargill, and she was respected by all and loved by many. She took a great interest in the Band of Hope, of which she was Superintendent, represented the W.C. T.U. on the N.C.W., and was Secretary to the Rest Room Committee. A very large number attended her funeral. At the service in the home, Mrs McGregor, District President, and Mrs Lillicrap, Central Vice-President, recited the beautiful White Ribbon burial service. At the graveside the D.L. of the Rechabites assisted in the service. To the sisters and brother we tender sincere sympathy.
