A CALL, TO PRAYER.

wore gathering for th»* conflict, and tilt' Master was watching the destruction of Jerusalem, the death of the Jewish nation, its people scattered over the world, a race, a peculiar people, but nevei more a nation. Jesus was watching a world devoid of hope, devoid of faith, dark with war and misery. And seeing this, He died for the world l>eeuuse He believed it w r as worth saving, even at tlie cost of His life. Art His followers to-day watching with Him in Gethsemane, or are they sleeping while He jigonises? Wake ap! and share the vigil. Watch the race-destroying action of the deadly drug we license the sale of. Watch how it robs the child of its right to be well-born, injuring the germ cells ere conscious life begins. Parental responsibility weakened, children robbed of home life, and handed over to the control of the State. Broken bodies, ruined intellects, and weakened characters. A nation headed for destruction. Watch! It is a nation worth saving, even at the cost of life itself. “The nation that sinneth shall die.” Save the nation by cleansing it from the national sin of licensing a soul-debasing, nation-destroying trade. ‘The law will lie broken,” says the pessimist. Probably! All laws are broken sometimes. But the law is righteous, and its tlouting becomes the sin of an individual, and not the crime of a nation. The Master has come, and is calling to the disciples of to day as He called to the disciples of His ow*n time, “Canst thou not watch with Me one hour?” “One little hour, ana then the Hallelujah. Eternity’s deep long thanksgiving song”
