SUPERINTENDENT'S LETTER.

2nd January, 1929. GOOD CITIZENSHIP DEFT. Dear Sisters, Heartiest New Year’s greetings to all! A year full of possibilities and opportunities lies before ns. Possessed with the Master's Spirit, let us gird on our armour, praying for Divine vision and insight to he given to us, so that we may see, and take wis*» advantage of the opportunities for service as they present themselves. In connection with our Good Citizenship Dept., last year we naturally concentrated on the Prohibition Campaign. This was done, more or less at the expense of some of the other branches of our work. This year, while not neglecting tlm urgent educational campaign that is so necessary before we can attain our Prohibition goal, let us, at the same time, widen our sphere of activities, so that it may embrace every effort making for Good Citizenship. In connection with organizations that are already functioning, whose aim is social service, with all the varieties of work which that term embraces, l«*t us give them our practical sympathy and assistance. In other eases. w»* can lead the way. and let it all be done in the name of tin* W.C.T.U. Don't let us lose any opportunities for service, whenever or wherever they present themselves. I have been disappointed this last year that more requests for advice or assistance have not come to hand in connection with our Good Citizenship Dept., but perhaps this lias been due to the concentration of work for the Poll. I do hope, this coining year, that every Union will organize and work this important branch of our work. At any time, whether in office or not, I will he pleased to hear from any of the Unions in connection with this work. Yours in White Ribbon bonds. NELLIE BLACKWELL. Stipe ri ntendent.
