ANIMAL WELFARE WEEK.
Once again we remind ourselves and would remind our children of the need of kindness to those who cannot speak for themselves, and whom we call our dumb friends. From October 25th to the 31st, Animal Welfare Week is to he observed, We hope every L.T.L. will have a lesson on this; that our Unions will study it during that week; that teachers and leaders everywhere will learn themselves and pass on to others the many ways in which we can stop cruelty to dumb animals. We may profitably study how our manner of living, the food we eat and the clothes we wear, are prepared at the cost of suffering to those who are weak and unable to defend themselves. Also, it is well for White Ribboners to study the question of vivisection, and seek information as to whether the Righteous Ruler of the Universe ordered health to man as the result of suffering to His animal creation. Sunday, 28th, is Animal Sunday, when it is hoped ministers and Sunday School teachers will bring the matter before their scnolars. Full particulars can be had from Mr Forbes, Wansbeck Street, Oamaru.
