Miss Edna Hughes was elected Medical Temperance Superintendent, and Mr Ronald Hoffman Parliamentary Superintendent. A very interesting impromptu debate was given by Messrs E. Scott and a Way man. the title being •’Should Nations expend large sums of money on armament for warfare?” WANGANUI. April 18. 34 present. Ten new members were initiated. A very descriptive account of the recent Convention was given by Mrs Bathgate, and a syllabus for the year, including debating, impromptu speaking, and other subjects, was read. Supper, and a very pleasant social hour. AUCKLAND. May 2. Fair attendance. Miss Ken Johnston appointed Superintendent of Hackblock Literature Department. Miss L. Adams gave a full rpport of the Napier Convention. and received a vote of thank*. Mrs spoke for a few minutes on the different Conventions she had attwded, and gave some helpful Temperance facts. One new member initiated. TOTARA VALLEY. March 17. Opening meeting. Good attendance. Decided to have a question box at next meeting. An Interesting and instructive address on “The True Appreciation of Time” was given by Mr T D. Burnett, M.P. Musical and elocutionary items were rendered. Games were played. Supper was served. Letters of loving sympathy to lie sent to Airs White and Miss f'leland in their illness. A happy time was spent with a question box. Supper served. One new member.

Williams on "Alcohol and itn Effect on Human Beings.” traced through three or four generations. A limrty vote was given for tile address. Gaines, etc., and supper. HENDERSON. April 18. Mrs Platt presided over a fair attendance of members. £1 was donated to Dominion Fund. Penee meeting to he held in May, Mr Perkins to he asked to give an address. Mrs Platt gave a full and conrise report of Napier Convention, and read the resolutions passed.
