The President made an appeal for view member** to the Society, and also subscribers to "The White Riblxtn." I'"our new members were initiated. An enjoyable meeting wan brought to a dose will* the singing of the Temperance Doxology. and the pronouncing of the Benediction. NORTH BRIGHTON. May 30. At Mrs Leaver's home. Two Shakespearean scenes, one from "The Merchant of Venice,” the other from "As You Like It." which were arranged by Miases Betty Scott and Mollv Norrie, Were contributed by members. Miss Annie McLean, who has been transferred to Christchurch. We trust she will he eoime* ted with “V ” work in the Cathedral City. Miss C. Thompson has gumon a visit to Auckland May she return feeling refreshed nnd ready for action again. Interesting letter from Miss Ada Uywn, who at present is in Melbourne, was read. Next meeting to be held at Mrs McCartney's residence. HAMILTON. May 23 Seven members were present, and the President presided. The meeting opened with the usual 1 1 >ii * ti. prayer and s< ripture reading. Mrs .Iroics, the District President of the W.C.T U.. gave a most interesting report of the Annual Convention, nnd talked about Union work generally.
