Acts 9:11: Arise and go to street —Business, etc. Acts 10:20-22: Arise and go into house —Home centre of everything. Command given by four different messengers: Angel. Jesus, Jehovah. Holy Ghost. Command given to four different men: Philip, Saul, Ananias, Peter. Command given apparently for four different purposes: l>esert. City, Street. House. Command representing four different parts of the glolte: Africa, Asia, Jerusalem, Europe. Let us arise and go and give and do. November 15, 1926. Dear White Ribhoners, — By this time the circular from Evangelistic Department will l>e in the hands of every Secretary or President and if not already answered, please get at it at once, that 1 may have the reports tabulated anti ready for print by the end of the year. In another column you will find four commands to “Arise and go. * According to the dictionary, “arise” means more than just simply standing up—the word is defined as spring forth. Even though we are on the eve of holidays, when Unions go into recess, we need not sit down

and cease working. If there is a willing heart, every woman can spring forth into some service for the lx>rd apart from meetings and the usual routine. Houlder. our World’s Superintendent, urges the necessity of making this department the great foundation on which our work can be built and be a success. The W.C.T.U. was begun in prayer, continued in prayer, and prayer wili bring victory. Every woman can pray. Prayer is the mightiest weafion we can wield, because he who prays in faith lays hold on Omnipotence. Every woman can THIJ.,. Whether in Desert. City, Street, or House. If every (*hristian passed on the message of Redeeming Love to another, and each in turn did the same so that each day their number was doubled, the whole world would have heard of the glad tidings in thirty-two days. Our Saviours last command, “Go ye . . . to every creature.” remintis us of our responsibility to every' soul. Every White Ribboncr can ask some woman to sign the pledge and assist our work by example and influence. Every White Ribboner can ask at least one to join our organisation anti help increase our membership. Let Us each and all spring forth into united action in pra>er. in speech, in song, and in work. We are hefe as Christ’s representatives. He has now gone, but has left us to carry on His w’ork, energised by His Holy Spirit. Let us seek for the indwelling, outreaching, all-con-quering spirit of the Most High God, that we may have all the virtues re-

quired to carry on and carry out His purposes. Wishing you all a Merry ChristmAs. and praying that 1927 may bring the best things into our lives and work. When Christ was born, midnight gloom lightened into midday brightness (Luke 2:9*. When Christ suffered, midday light darkened into midnight g!oom (Luke 23:44).
