IN MEMORIAM

It whs with a disinct feeling of personal loss that we received the artio.e printed below. We had counted Mrs Me Kenzie among our choice friends, and her thoughts and prayers had always been given to help us in outwork. This was the first news of her passing we had received. We do not grudge her the well earned resit she has won by a life of singular devotion to her Cod but we do feel that we have one less on earth to help, to aid, to en courage and to pray for us. To Mrs Hiett, and other members of her family we offer our sincerest gym pm hy. CALLED HOME. On Sunday, August 16th. Mrs McKenzie, mother of Mrs H;ctt, Dunedin's President, entered into rest at the rijs' age of si years. Although of lute \«:i s she had been crippled with rh» u mutism, Mrs McKenzie had, while health was hers, been a great worker in all branches of the service < f Cod. Her Christian service to her neighbours and friends at Taaeri Beach wil n 'ver lx* forgotton by them and aftei she moved into Dunedin, she ministered to 'he sick and unhappy, bringing comfort and peace to many sad and sorrowful hearts. Her family had alva>s before tin m an example of love to <Jod « nd reverence for His Word tind His lay. It was, th refore, fitting that she should pass into His presence on Sunday. She had been a ke< n fighter of the Liquor Traffic all her life, and joined the W.C.T.U. when she cam* to live where there was a branch. Those of us who were privileged to know her in her later y ars, when the infirmities of age were creeping on her. and her powers of active service were reduced, were struck by the happiness and contentment of her spirit. She was so peaceful and serene never w r lied, always smiling; it lid one g<»cd r o lx- with hc‘r. Her fli> l l illness was of bri< f duration, and no suffering. She was only con fln< ! to bed oat week, and 1 ea to her church in hor wheeled chair thre- 1 weeks before her cull home. Hers was a long and Dutiful life and her children can never forget her early teaching to them, but mini follow her example, so that "hrough tfem she “being dew! >et speaketh."
