is there anyone you can call for on your way next time, or perhaps pick up. even if it means going a bit out of your usual road? There may still be someone who “hasn’t heard much about it” yet. The chances are she won’t go hunting for means to learn, if left to herself, but if you talk to her about the meeting, as a thing you are interested in, and urge her beforehand to come with you, and then repeat your experiment a few times, surely your Union is interesting enough to make her want to join. Anyway she is less likely to vote “without thinking it matters” or “without really caring which side wins” (as if 5 t w r er* a game), and still less likely to vote against us. if she has taken part, even on the outside, of some of our discussions, and taken part, even as a guest instead of as one of ourselves, in the social part of our meetings. —KATHERINE MERCER.
