Large attendance. Mrs Keen and the Entertainment Committee provided a treasure hunt, stepping the chain, and other competitions. The Refreshment Committee liberally catered for all. President (Mrs Every) welcomed all visitors and friends, and Mrs I‘eryman gave a short address, appealing for members. Nine new members were gained. Mrs Moore, Cradle Roll Superintendent, enroll'd a number of little ones. Collection, £2 12s. . LEIGH. Jan. 13. Annual Cradle Roll picnic, held on Mrs R. Mat boson's beautiful littly beach. The weather was glorious. The Cradle Roll children had a nice, each child receiving a prize. Mr Keith Matheson kindly boated people up the creek to see the waterfall. A sumptuous lunch and tea were provided, the table-cloths being spr< ad on a grassy flat overlooking the beach. After tea, the President (Mrs Grigg) gave a brief outline of the work done by the Cnion during the past year. After th« usual congratulatory speeches, the happy picnickers wended their way homeward, having spent a most enjoyable day. Jan. 31. Usual attendance. President in the chair. Members were present from Dunedin and Oamaru. and greetings and ideas exchanged. Caretaker’s report contained sincere thanks from men of S.S. "Maimoa." who had had two Sunday teas (one an Xmas tea), two Sunday eveniygs and one week-night social. Mr Woodward also arranged a motor ride into the country, and they voted it altogether the best reception they had ever had. The S.S. "Tniroa” had a Sunday tea. evening service. and a week-night social. Two new members were initiated.
