All White Kibboners will be infrestod to learn that a nephew of Mrs Judson, our much-loved sister, has won, in qui< k sui cession, the D. 5.0., the 1 . Military Medal, and the V.C. We heartil) congratulate the young hero. The Temperance Cause has sutlcred a severe loss in the death of Rev. C. 11. Garland, who passed axx.ix last month in Auckland. He died as h‘* would have wished in harness. He took three services on the Sundax, anil then, on Mond ty morning, while reading the war news in the paper, ‘‘lie xxas not, for God took him.’ lie was a man of xxide « ulturc, and wider sympathy, a tine preacher, a faithful pastor, an earnest xvorker in the cause of temperance and social reform. His place xxill be hard to fill. As head of our theological <ollege, he won the res|>ect and confidence of the students, and exerted a lasting influenie unon them. To Mrs (iarland and family we tender our sincerest sympathy, and pray that the Divine Comforter may be with them in the hour of bereavement.
