WORLD'S W.C.T.U.
My Dear Miss Henderson, — We have been having several weekof great preoccupation, caused by the passing onward of our beloved National Treasurer. 1 recently sent you a circular letter in regard to Mrs Hutchinson, but 1 did not thank you for your beautiful letter of March 31, which has recently come to me. 1 am deeply touched by the congratulations sent by the Convention of the New Zealand W.C.T.U. While I feel very keenly my la k of fitness for the heavy responsibilities of the position, we have so many expert leaders 111 our work in this country that i feel 1 can share with them the burden, and that makes the work much easier. We rejoice in the splendid spirit shown by the White Ribboners in New Zealand, and 1 hope your regular W.C.T.U. work and your plans for the 1917 campaign may be succesful. With much love to you and to the members of the W.C.T.U. —Affectionately, ANNA A. GORDON. My Dear Miss Henderson, — We tenderly appreciate the sympathetic message from the Convention of the New Zealand W.C.T.U. concerning our beloved Mrs Stevens. We thank you for the copy of the resolution, and I have taken the liberty of sharing it with Mrs Stevens’s only daughter.—Affectionately, ANNA A. GORDON.’
