THE ORGANISING FUND.

Dear Sisters, —Just a few lines to help you to realise' the* importance of the Organising Fund and the nccc—sity of keeping it in sound condition. Miss Powell put in a plea for the' “Fund” in the November issue of the* “White Ribbon,” and I wish to add my voice to hers. Hardly any donation- have come forward so far thiyear from the Unions. Those that have come in arc' mostly private ones, and through the instrumentality of Miss Powell, who seems remarkably successful in this special branch of her work, that of “Begging.” I realise that next year will be a hard one, financially, for every Union, so I do feel that a sincere effort should be made this year on the part of cve r y Union to contribute. I fe' I would like to add that I know so well how keenly interested Mrs Cole* was in the* welfare of the Organising Department, and she felt very sorry last year that there wasuch a long list of “Defaulting Unions.” Therefore, to her memory I ask that all Unions will take a real interest in work of “organising.” I will send in their full subscriptions, so that the* Organiser next year will not be hampered in her travels by the* thought that funds are low. It would be quite a triumph if, ;.t Ihr next Convention, there was not one name on the- “Defaulting Li<t.” I remain, yours very sincerely, ALICE R. C. TAYLOR, Treas. Organising Fund. “Coveney,” Balgownic, Wanganui, December 6th, 1913.
