A CHATTY LETTER FROM MRS. HARRISON LEE-COWIE.

To our dear comrades rvtrywhore, Dear Sisters, In cur No License city we are devising methods of creating public opanion and helping on National Prohibition. l irst, we took an empty shop window, and >4Ol a friendly grocer to k it w ith /JiN worth of groceries. A big, hand >oinel\ lettered card informed the pub lit that “All these things could be purchased with one vcar’s drink money for a family of five.” Following the grocery display, the window wa- tilled with fine attractive cartoons, pictures, and diagrams, warning the passer-b> against drink. These will be followed by £IS worth of drapery, then furniture, then bicycle, toys, and presents for Christmas; and then, again, educational matter. It is a grand method of catching the attention of the* pub lie. Open-airs are to be held at the Rotunda every Saturday night during the summer to enlighten the* careless on the' importance* of our groat question. Personal woik i-> going on vigor ously. The Kest and Refreshment Tents at the Show are greatly valued Our District Convention (the first ever held here) was a great success, and the splendid delegation of Bible in Schools League met with a cordial welcome, and a most gratifying standing vote testifying the hearty support of our Brandies in the great work ol getting the Bible back to our children. Our \ \ are always ready to help in ever} spec ial effort. The pleasant Temperance Sunday afternoons at Amethyst Itall are well attended and greatly appreciated. A splendid Peace meeting was addressed by the London deputation, Mr and Mrs Alexander, on Ji>t, ’at a drawingroom given in Amethyst Hall. Altogether our W C.T.I . is very much alive, and we rejoice to add our little quota of work to the amount being done all over the* Dominion.—Yours ever, B.L.C.
