At the annual Congress of the Royal Institute of Public Health, held recently at Ituxton. a speaker, instancing the evil effects of improper feeding, said on one occasion he remonstrated with a woman for giving solid food to a !>abv four months old. She resented his impertinence in attempting to teach her how to rear a baby when she had had fourteen children. He was not surprised to learn, lie added, that twelve of the children were dead.
