Report from Newtown Girls' Association.

We feel sure the readers of the White Ribbon will be glad to know that while Dr. Torryand Mr Alexander were in Wellington Mrs George and myself were successful in gaining permission from one of our factories to hold a meeting at mid day, Mr Alexander and the Rev. J. Lyall kindly coming and spending half an hour with the girls, which time was spent in singing, praying, and a few earnest w'ords. The result was that next day a request came from the factory asking if it would lie possible to hold a meeting with the girls every Monday at mid-day, which request was gladly acceded to. At our first meeting we were well received by the girls. After a bright little service, we gave the girls an invitation to the meeting in our room, at 7.30, and, although it was a stormy night, 26 girls came. Mr George, who attended with Mrs George, brought with him Mr Pulling and Mr Grimson, two missionaries on their way to South America. The meeting was one which will be long remembered, at the close all in the room kneeling and singing “ I Surrender All.” There are about 100 girls employed in the factory, and we ask our sisters

most earnestly to remember us at midday each Monday, praying that we may t>e instruments in His hands of leading, not some of them, but all to Jesus. Yours in White Ribbon bonds, h. A. Box ALL. Oct. 6, 11)02.
