Women's National Council.
Ths annual meeting is to be held in Wellington on March 17, and will last for nine days. The following societies will, it is expected, be represented :—The Women's Political League, the Women’s Democratic Union, and the Women’s Liberal Association, from Auckland ; the Women’s Political Association, from Gis. borne; the Women’s Political League, from Wanganui; the Southern Cross Society and the Women’s Social and Democratic Union, from Wellington; the Women’s Institute, the Women’s Social and Political League, and the Women’s Political Association, from Christchurch; the Malvern Women’s Institute, from Canterbury; the Women’s Franchise League, from Dunedin ; the Women’s Christian Temperance Union of N. Z , and the N. Z. Fabian Society. There are still a few societies w hich have not yet announced definitely that they purpose affiliating. The titles of some of the papers to be read before the Council are :—“ The Removal of all Civil and Political Disabilities from Women ; ” “ Equal Wage for Equal Work;” 44 Marriage and Divorce; ” 44 Old Age Pensions; ” •* Parental Responsibilities ; " 44 Technical Education ; " 44 Health ;" 44 The Unemployed;” * 4 The Social and Scientific Aspects of Temperance.” It is to be hoped that all delegates who mean to be present will communicate in good time with Lady Stout, so that she and her colleagues w ill l>e able to make their preliminary arrangements in good time.
