Gaol ; Library.— ln- response to the Vicar's appeal and m addition to other gifts, he has received the following kind letter with a handsome present of books from the Rev. R. McNaughtan : — " Congregational Manse, Napier, Nov. 19th, 1907. Canon Mayne, Thi Vicarage, Dear friend, — In response to your appeal on behalf of the gaol library, it gives me great pleasure to forward to you some books contributed by the senior and junior Christian Endeavour Societies connected with the Congregational Church here. . Mothers' Union.— The members of the above union will meet for their annual social and garden party at the Vicarage on . Wednesday, December Uth, from 3 to 5 p.m. District School Bible Class.— The chiJdren's annual social and prizegiving will be held at the Vicarage on Tuesday, December 3rd, at 4 p.m. Confirmation.— The Bishop will hold a confirmation for girls attending the Hukarere school early m December. Christmas Day Services. — Holy Communion 6 a.m., 7 a.m., 8 a.m., 12 a.m. Gaol service with address, 9.30 a.m. Choral Matins, 11 a.m. Choral Evensong, 7 p.m.— With carols. All the offertories on Christmas Day will bo given to the General Mission Fund. Parishioners who will be unable to attend through absence of any other cause will have an opportunitj/ of contribtiting by means of envelopes which will be distributed on the 2nd and 3rd Sundays m Advent. Sunday Schools. — The Vicar's Bible Class and the three Sunday schools will be closed during the whole of January. Scholars will reassemble on Sunday, February 2nd, at 3 p.m. The picnic will probably be held on Saturday. December 14th. Fuller information will be o-iven when Miss K. Williams and Mr Sheath, the superintendent, return to Napier.
