EXCUSES
A Parson m course of Ms travels meetings many people who do not go to Church and an amazing lack of originality m the excuses they offer. There are the six standard excuses which occur with monotonous regularity. Here they are applied m another connection: I ' never go to the pictures now-a-days • — — . My Parents made me go when I was a boy. No-one at the pictures ever talks to me. Every time I go someone asks me for money. The manager never visits me m my own home. . ' The people who do go are hypocrites, they don't live up to what the films teach. My wife goes for me. They don't sound very convincing do they? That's how the Parson feels about it sometimes.
