WORD OF DR. KAGAWA.
Questions are frequently asked; about the whereabouts and welfare of Dr. Kagawaj the noted Japanese evangelist, wno visited Hawke's Bay some years ago. The Church -Chronicle, Ballarat, states that after a long silence the following letter has been addressed by Kagawa to Christians in China :— v ' _ . "Dear Brothers and Sisters in. ;:,;' v^China,-.!'; ' ..,.'•. ■ ; ■ .■■■■■■ "Though a million times I should ask pardon, it would not be enough, to Cover the sins of Japan, which Cause me intblerable shame . I ask you to forgive, my nation. And there is an uncountable number of souls in Japan, who, like myself, are asking for pardon. I beg you to forgive us, specially because we Christians were hot strohg enough to restrain the militarists.^ Forgive us as .we work jand pray that the day will come when our two nations will be har-r mohious in the Name of Christ." :.. .
