GENERAL DIOCESAN FUND.
The organiser has spent part of December m touring the Maori districts of the Bay of Plenty with the assistance of the trailer-caravan which has been recently purchased. He gave a lantern lecture m the hall at Ruatoki, which was very poorly attended; and unfortunately it was found impossible to arrange a lecture for the Maoris at Whakatane. From there he. went to Mahetu where a week-end was spent, both the morning service and evening lantern lecture on the Sunday being well attended. A visit was also paid to the Te Kaha Pastorate, where lantern lectures were given at Terere, Te Kaha and Raukokere, the two latter being exceptionally well supported, services were conducted m three different churches on the Sunday. One small boy m this pastorate had had a spell m the Opotiki Hospital, and while there had delighted the nurses and patients with his singing, being rewarded by them m pennies. In all he collected Is 6d which was handed to the organiser for the support of the Orphanages — this indeed shows the right spirit. The organiser's itinerary for the coming year has so far been completed as follows:— Sunday, January 6th, Clive; January 13th, Tolaga Bay; January 20th, Waipiro Bay; January 27th, Tolaga Bay; February 3rd, Patutahi; February 10th, Gisborne; Febru-
ary 17th, Waerenga-a-hike; February 24th, Te Karaka; March 24th and 31st, Wairoa.
