OPOTIKI.

(Vicar, Rev. C. G. Salt.) The annual meeting of the Mothers' Union was held during the month, and after a special service and address m the church the members adjourned to the Parish Hall, where afternoon tea was served and several musical items were given. The following officers were elected: Mrs. Salt, president; Mesdames Sydenham, W. Recce, T. Pearson and W. Anderson, vice-presidents; Mrs. P. Clark, secretary; and Mrs. J. Hughes, treasurer. The social committee held the monthly social and dance on 24th July. The senior boys' Bible Class shows a slight increase m numbers and all members appear to be keenly interested. A much-wanted improvement has been effected m the church porch by replacing the old set of photos of the Rev. Karl Volkner and the early church with a new set, among which are one or two new subjects, while the old photos and frame, which were very much faded and stained with age, have been replaced with new ones. Thanks are due to the Graphica Company, Opotiki, for this much needed renewal. W. H. TAYLOR.
