Waipawa.
Vicar: The Rev. J. Pigott. The Bishop visited this parish on Sunday, July 7th. Unfortunately the vicar and his family were all laid up Avith influenza so he was not able to take part m any of the services. Mrs Anderson kindly provided hospitality. The services were not as largely attended as last year owing to the influenza and sickness amongst churchpeople. There Avere five candidates for confirmation from Abbotsford Home, three from the toAvn of Waipawa and twelve at the afternoon service at Tikokino. On Monday afternoon an "at home", was held at Abbotsford Home when the Matron and staff assisted by willing parishioners entertained a large number of people. The bishop was present and on the Tuesday morning celebrated at an early service when the newly confirmed made their first communion.
