The death of Mr J. H. P. Kissling, at the age of 60, ' must have come as a shock to many throughout N.Z. A grandson of Archdeacon Kissling, the first vicar of St.Mary's, Parnell, he was intimately connected with church affairs m Auckland, and his life was one of qiiiet and unostentatious service. He was a member of the Boards of St. Stephen's, School for Maori Boys, of the Queen Victoria School for Maori Girls, of the Dipcesan High School, of King's College, besides bieiitg for many years a vestryman and churchwarden of St, Mary's. The Rev. H. L. R. Isherwood lhas been appointed Vicar of the Bay of Islands. Canon Fancourt, Vicar of All Saints' Palmerston North, has been appointed Vicar of St. Mary's Pro-Cathedral. A resident tutor is required for St. John's College, at a salary of £300 per annum, with board and residence. The appointment to commence from. March Ist, 1930. John. Perkins at the age of 55 came as a release from a long and painful illneiss, borne with Christian patience. He leaves a memory of dauntless devotion and courage, and' a high ideal to his brethren m the Ministry. During the war he worked for six month 6 m a coal mine, conduct-' ing his services as usual on Sundays, m order to release an unmarried man for service at the front. The Rev. F. H. Thorpe has resigned the cure of Okain'e Bay, owing to his wife's breakdown m Ihealth. The Rev. J. A. Wilson has been appointed Vicar of VVaihao Downs.
