Holy Trinity Church, Gisborne.

Barham, M.A. A party was held recently for tihe children of the Kindergarten, and the little ones, 54 m number thoroughly enjoyed themselves wjth games of all kinds, and last ibut not least a sumptuous sit down tea. Mrs McGinnity, the superintenent, is to be congratulated on the success of the evening. The St. John's Sunday School held a most successful Book Social lately m the Parish Hall and received over one hundred, new and used books for their library. A good number of people and children attended the function and

were entertained with items from the children of the Sunday School. During an interval supper was dispensed. Confirmation classes have begun and the clergy will be glad to receive names of those desiring to prepare for the holy rite. Deaconess Esther Brand, who arrives from England on August 22, will prepare the girls and women for confirmation. The class for lads is taken by Mr Barhain at 10 a.m. on Sunday mornings m the Church. We wish people to keep m Blind the Mangapapa Sale of Work which takes place m the Ist week of September, and the Holy Trinity Ladies' Guild Sale, which is to be held m the Ist week ia October: Watch the papers. Will subscribers o>f the .^Gazette please send their subscriptions m to Deaconess Esther Brand without delay. At the last Mothers' Union meeting, Miss Perry, the Y.W.C.A. Secretary, gave a most interesting talk on the •'Adolescent Girl." The St. John's Ladies Guld held another very ;succeissfuil "Bring, and Buy" afternoon, lately, and their funds': were considerably increased by this effort.
