London m March, whoas? expected to include Rotorua m his programme. As the Vicar "will be away during January and will have no opportunity of sending notes for the February issue he wishes to add a few later notes to those m another column. Sister Elsie Smith (Abbotsford Home), after weeks of attendance on sick children is '"now herself a victim of Germane measles and up to date four more children have contracted the disease, making 21. This is particularly unfortunate as it will keep the matron from going for her wellearned holiday for at least three weeks. Assistance at the Home which has long been awaited has at last arrived m the person of Miss l^er, and under the circumstances is specially welcome. Nurse Moore has also come down from Napier for a short time until the p&tients recover. In. spite of the wet weather and the absence of a great many parishioners on holiday the number of communicants this Christmas was larger than ever before, especially at the 7 a.m. , Eucharist at St. Peter 's. The evening congregation also at Tikokino on Sunday was splendid though the evening was very wet.:! The Holy " Communion was celebrated at Abbotsford Home on St. John's Day for the staff and children who are m isolation and unable to attend the parish church. The parish Lizzie, which had become very shabby and whose hood has for some time had a most dilapidated appearance, has been spruced up for Christmas. The Vicar has given it a coafc of Ripolin enamel and a new hood has been obtained which Mr James Riddles has kindly fitted, so that Lizzie looks respectable once more. The whole of the frontage of the two schoolrooms has been concreted. Mr Jamieson, who was visiting Waipawa, kindly took charge of the organ at the 11 o'clock celebration on Christmas Day. The Siinday fechool held its annual prize-giving on December 19th.
