A parishioners' meeting of this newly-constituted and as yet unnamed Parochial District '^as held on May sth at Ruatorea. Archdeacon . Williams presided and Rev. J. Pigott
(Waipiro Bay) and Mr R. J. MacKeriria,. the acting vicar, were also present. Attendance about 35. Vicar r 's warden, Mr W. JF. Metcalf e ; parishioners' warden, Mr 0: T. Williams ; vestry,-; Messrs W. W. Ludbrook, J. H. Taplin, B. C. Watkins, M. W. Halliwell, I. S. C. Dalgairns, A. W. Kirk, F. T. Woodley, W. D. E. Sinclair ; one vacancy , left for a representative, of Gape Runaway to be elected later ; Synodsman, Mr E. R. Ludbrook.
On his retiring. at his own request from the office of people's warden which he has so usefully, faithfully and generously occupied for many years, the hearty thanks of the district for his services are due to Mr T. S. Williams.
Re the Prime Minister's decease a memorial service was held on Thursday, May 14th, at St. Stephen's Church, Te Araroa, and despite the extremely unpleasant weather there was a fair attendance. Mr L. B. Rowe's beautiful organ rendering of the appropriate hymns and of the "Dead March" from "Saul" and Chopin's " Funeral March" immensely enhanced the impressiveness of the service.
