Thank's were given to the vestry of John*, Napier, for the gift of two very fine windows to replace those blown m during a gale at Ormdndville, The Arehdeaeon of Hawke's Bay hftd been invited, and said that he was glad to be able to attend parish ■ m'eetingp, it gave hini a great op^por-r stuijity of meeting the ' parishioners, and also to gain a first hand knowledge of the working of '. the parish. Bayliss "That this meeting of the parishioners has heard with great-.re-gret of the illness of the Vicar which ' prevented his -attendance at the annual'meeting and desires'to express to him 'their earnest hope for a speedy reebyery, and to assure him of their continued loyalty and support." There was a good attendance, .the ladies had thoughtfully provided afternoon tea thus giving an opportunity for a nice social chat after the business of the day. ' HaTdock North. (Vicar : Rev. Canon K. E. Maclean, 8.A.) In the beginning of this month we had the pleasure of welcoming bur Vicar, m first grade form, on his return after an absence, of five months. The parish is most thankful for his complete restoration to health, and. is ready to do all it can to help him .m the important work that the" world demands from the Church, m these times, big with possobilities. The Vicar, was .fortunate m being able to go to the Church .Congress for part of his holiday^ - and . deems himself a fortunate man to have had that luxury is returned back to work thoroughly rested and- refreshed.. The band of . lay-readers kindly took all services for which he is grateful, 'Mr A. M. Williams, Mr G. Williams, and Mr Spargo, Canon Arthur Williams also doing his part after the Congress," where he spoke ably on spiritual healing and Mr J. M. Hickson's work, and mission. July 6th when the. amount raised "will be deveted to church painting and ground improvements, and probably a fair amount over for the vestry, for the car and for vicarage needs.
