The Cathedral.
A very pleasant- function / which took the form of a .. Gift Afternoon for ' St. Mary 's Home, was held m St. John's Cathedral Schoolroom onSaturday, June , 12th. The Very R6V. Dean Mayne" presided, and the Bosr tesses'were the ladies of St. John's, Committee for Women's Social Work. The room was prettily decorated, a . fine musical programme Was given, and a delicious afternoon tea was "served. About 150 guests were present, and the gift table wa,s loaded with presents^ of a geherOiis - andvaried kind. Those' who gave items of music were Mrs Fihdlay and Miss Gwen Dalton, Messrs Rishworth, Hudson, Jamieson, Brusey and; Master Den.zil Wood: The accompaniments were played by Mr E. C. Jamieson, Cathedral organist, to whom the . committee are much indebted for his services, and also for the loan of his beautiful piano. ' v ,
