We heartily congratulate the Bishop of Nelson and the' Nelson Diocese on the muhifieerit bequests left by MissMafsdeh to the : church iri that Diocese.- They include £10,000 for the erectiori of the ■ Cath edral spire; £5000 . to' the Clergy Pensiori^und, £5000 for the Home l Missiori , Furid, and large sums ' -to be used at the 'discretion- of" the Bishop. Money has been left for the building of a Cliurch house for' ! the Diocese, and the rebuilding of "Bishopsdale." : Miss Marsden's house iri Brougham street is deAased to the Diocese. •At present values the bequests to the/Church amount to' about £50^000 and ultiiriately' will amount to more./ We hope that wealthy Churchmen throughout NeAV Zealand, When makr ing their wills, will 'have a similar re^ gard for the needs of . the Church, especially those of the Hoirie Missiori Fund, Pension Fund and" ' Church 1 Schools and Orphanages. : We understand that the Bishop is very keen oil the subject of Religious Educatiori and the establishmerit. of Church Schools and that the time is ' not far distant wheri schools will be: established in' several parishes.
