Tlie New Zealand agent of the British, and Foreign Bible Society has forwarded the statement of the amount raised m New Zealand during 1 9 14. In the whole of New Zealand about j£i4so was remitted. The different Auxiliaries contributing about : — N. Auckland £11, Auckland S. Auckland £63, Bay of Plenty ,£3l, Taranaki Wanganui ,£2OO, Manawatu £$S, Poverty Bay £$6, Hawke's Bay ,£225, Wairarapa Wellington Nelson £9, Westland ;.^i6, N. Canterbury and Christchurch Xi 2 5» S. Canterbury £,118, Miscellaneous £9Places m this Auxiliary, Haw'ke's Bay, contributed the following : — Dannevirke £6, Hastings and Havelock j£49 17s 3d, Napier 13s 2d, Orniondville Taradale £4 13s, Waipufcurau £17 9s nd, Waipawa 4s 2d, Woodville 15s. Total 2s 6d. At the present time the Society is particularly busy m supplying belligerents of all Nations with suitably bound copies of the Scriptures or a portion of them each m their own language. In Japan the hold the Bible has gained upon the leaders m that Empire is remarkable, the Premier, Count Okuma, jhad invited the World Sunday School Convention to have its next Conference at Tokio m 1916. When asked by an American gentleman what led him to do this he replied, v I have m mind the establishment of Sunday Schools throughout the Empire so that all both old and young may spend their Sunday s in studying the Bible. 1:
