Girls' Friendly Society.
Tyiro , council' meetings . were held ; during the month of July. At the first meeting, on the 6th, a discussion was held on the building, of a Lbdge, and three ladies representing the H. B. Ladies'- Syndicate attended by invitation.; This Syndicate has presented to; the Lodge Fund the sum of ,£330 on condition the Lodge was completed within ,twelve months. A building Committee, . consisting of Mrs Tuke, Mrs Lowry, Miss % and Messrs F. W. Williams, O. F. Morley and; P. J. Stopford was appointed. The Secretary was asked to write to Miss Mac Michael, who represents the Diocese m Kngland, for help from the Central Fund towards the Tvodge. At the meeting on the 22nd, a letter was read from Mrs Colquhoun, the Dunedin Diocesan Secretary, asking if the Waiapu Diocese would agree to the appointment of Miss Raine as Organising Secretary and contribute £30 towards her expenses. The Council consented to do so. • Miss Griffin sent m her resignation as Secretary to S. Luke's branch, Rotorua, which was accepted with regret and Miss Hare was elected m her place.
