Waipukurau.

Vicar: Rev. A. W. C. Stace. On Thursday, October 21st, a general meeting of ladies was held m the schoolroom, to. discuss several matters m connection with the Church and Vicarage. The meeting was opened with prayer by the Vicar after which His Lordship Btehop Averill addressed the ladies, urging them to do their utmost to have the Vicarage built as soon as possible. A ladies' guild was then formed with twenty members, and it was decided to hold a large sale of work and gift auction some time m April of next year. The following officers were elected : President, Mrs Stace, Vice-Presidents, Mrs J. Hobson and Mrs Harding, Secretary, Miss Harding, Treasurer, Mrs Curd. An enthusiastic meeting, consisting of fifteen ladies, was held at Hatuma, at the residence of Mrs J. Hobson, on Thursday, November 4th. It was unanimously decided to prepare a stall to represent Hatuma at the forthcoming sale of work. The annual Sunday School tea and prize-giving will be held m the schoolroom on Friday, November 29th, and we hope to see a large number of parents and friends present. If sufficient funds permit, a picnic for the children will also be held at Napier just before Christmas. Very many thanks are due to Mrs F. Stoddart for training the children for "Cinderella," which was staged m aid of the Sunday School funds. The Sunday School will benefit to the extent of about £6 as the result of this entertainment.
