Bible in State Schools.
Canon Garland, the Organising Secretary of the Bible m State Schools League, spent a busy time m Hawke's Bay from November sth to 1 2th. He gave an address to members of the Mothers 1 Union, Girls' Friendly Society, and others, m the Cathedral on the 6th, and m the evening met the Central Committee at Bishopscourt, when matters afiecting the work of the league were fully discussed. On Thursday, the 7th, he visited Dannevirke, where he held a public meeting. On Friday, the Bth, he addressed two meetings, the first for women m the afternoon and the second for all-comers m the evening. On Saturday, the 9th, he journeyed to Te Aute, where he held a meeting, and on Sunday, the 10th, he preached m S. Matthew's, Hastings, m the morning, gave an address at S. Columba's Presbyterian Church injthe afternoon, and m the evening preached m the Cathedra]. Monday was spent at Hastings, two meetings being held, and on Tuesday, the 12th, the Canon left for wellingtoiii to fulfil important engagements there,
