By Professor Shand Professor Shand gave a lecture on “The Electric Discharge, and Röntgen Photographic Rays,” illustrated by numerous experiments. Mr. G. M. Thomson gave a brief account of the report of the committee appointed last year to consider the establishment of a fish-hatching station. He stated that the committee had made inquiries, personally inspecting various localities, and had come to the conclusion that Purakanui was the most suitable spot in the neighbourhood for the purpose.
