Dr. Hocken delivered a lecture on “The Early History of Otago,” being the tenth of the series on “The Early History of New Zealand.” Mr. W. Martin, one of the immigrants to Otago by the “Philip Laing,” expressed the pleasure which Dr. Hocken's lecture had yielded him and other “old identities,” and moved a hearty vote of thanks to the lecturer, which was carried by acclamation.
