The following resolution was passed:— The members of the Philosophical Institute of Canterbury desire to record the deep sense of the loss they have sustained in the removal by death of the late Thomas Henry Potts, who was one of the earliest members of the Institute, and contributed largely by his minute observation of nature to the knowledge of the natural history of New Zealand; and they request the President to write a letter of sympathy and condolence to Mrs. Potts and her family.
