Election of Officers for 1884 Election of Officers for 1884:—President—The Right Rev. the Bishop of Waiapu; Vice-president—Dr. Spencer; Hon. Treasurer—J. N. Bowerman; Hon. Secretary—A. Hamilton; Council—H. Hill, C. H. Weber, J. Kirker, S. Locke, T. K. Newton, F. W. C. Sturm; Auditor—T. K. Newton. Mr. Colenso having resigned the offices of Hon. Secretary and Treasurer, at the suggestion of the President it was resolved, “That this meeting cannot accept the resignation of their Hon. Secretary, the Rev. W. Colenso, without putting on record their high appreciation of his invaluable services to the Institute from its beginning, and their great regret that he feels unable longer to fill the office of Hon. Secretary, though they have no doubt that he will continue to give the Institute the advantage of his zealous services as member.”
