STONE ROSES SPLIT
After deciding to leave Stone Roses and join Primal Scream, bassist Gary Mounfield announced that, “I’ve decided with lan Brown to end the Stone Roses saga.” Gary thanked the other band members, fans and their record company and said of the band’s former guitarist — “I wish John Squire and his new band a fruitful time and I hope they go on to smash it.” Vocalist lan Brown issued the following statement: “Having spent the last 10 years in the filthiest business in the Universe it’s a pleasure to announce the end of the Stone Roses.”
