F>'om Gazette 6th August . 1873. Robberies under Arms. Three men, names not given, but who can be identified, are charged on warrants issued by the Blackall Bench with having the 18th June, 1873, when under arms, stolen from Malvern Hill station, Blackall, the following property of A. R. Brown and others, viz., one bay gelding, E near shoulder; one black gelding, either 474 or H_/\H on Shoulder; three Terry’s breach loading rifles; one large Bolt’s and two single-trigger Tranter’s revolvers; one new double-sewn bridle, red forehead band, two old bridles, a breast-plate and new

crnpper, a German silver lever watch, some bulletmoulds, about <£lo in cheques, one for £1 5s 6d, J. Tweed on Bank of New South Wales, one for £1 Is on Rome Bros., Northampton Downs, one for £1 Is, W. Crombie. Offenders are described as follows —lst. About 5 feet 10 inches high, straight and slight build, about 33 years, dark brown hair, prominent eyebrows, > short nose, thick, short, dark moustache and' beard, little or no whiskers, sallow complexion, very bad expression, wore a new light-colored wideawake hat, with black band round it, a light tweed coat, leggings, rode a fine-looking bay horse, rattish tail, off fore foot white. 2nd. About 5 feet 9 inches high, 25 years of age, slight build, light brown hair, long face, short stubby hair on ; face, not much of it, shows his teeth slightly, evidently a native, dressed in an old felt hat, pepper and salt coat and trousers, elastic-side boots. This offender took a pair of Napoleon boots out of the store. ' 3rd. About 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, 20 years of age, slight slight build, very light hair and complexion, a little light down on his face, long thin features, blue eyes; dressed in cabbage-tree hat, white handkerchief drawn through a “ quandong ” stone, blue coat, brown tweed trousers, elastic side boots; rode a grey mare. The above described offenders were armed with revolvers, and stuck up all the people on the station. They are

believed to be identical with the brothers Faulkner from Bathurst, and one Sweeney who was convicted of horse-stealing at Wallgett about six years ago.

Bob Barnfield, James Falconer and John Falconer, alias James Thompson and John Thompson, are charged on warrant, issued by 1 the Cunnamulla Bench, with having on the 22nd - June, v 1873, when under arms, stolen from James Tyson, at Tinneburra station, in the Warrego district, two horses (not described) and some rations, and stuck up the people on the station ; also with having fired on the police on the Bullo, when 'in hot pursuit. Offenders are ■ described as follows : Ist. Barnfield, about 30 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, medium build, heavy eyebrows, sunken eyes, dark sallow complexion, rather pale face, heavy beard on chin, scarcely any whiskers, Yankee appearance, tweed coat and felt hat. 2nd. James Falconer, about 23 or 24 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, slight build, young beard, grey tweed coat and trousers, elastic side boots ; rode dark grey horse. 3rd. Jack Falconer, about 20 years of age, about 5 feet 8 inches high, slight build, fair hair, no hair on face ; wore blue coat, light trousers, cabbage-tree hat, wore handkerchief ran through quandong stone (vide former item). These offenders are believed to have been the bushrangers who robbed the Malvern Hill station.
