Ellen White reports that between 12 and 1 o’clock on the morning of the 2nd instant, she was assaulted and robbed in Dundas street, Dunedin, of 8 sovereign-'', two <£l notes, and 5s in silver,, by one John Rober Roberts was proceeded against for this offence and d ; - charged, as prosecutrix evidence as to his identity with that of the offender was not considered clear.

On the evening of the 10th instant a stone was thrown through a large square of glass in the office window of Messrs Bing, Harris, and Co.’s premise?. High street, Dunedin, damaging the window to the value of £2O.

Between the 7th and 9th instant, a gate on the run of Cargill and Anderson, Teviot Station, was broken off the hinges and otherwise damaged. Messrs Cargill and Anderson, the owners, offer £lO reward for such information as will lead to the conviction of the offender or offenders.

Found, on the 23rd instant, by Constantine Dumphey, near the Waikari toll gate, a silver hunting lever watch, No. 2114, Rotherham maker, London; had silver guard attached, supposed to have been lost by George Vicery.

Lost, on the 21st ultimo, by John Nicholls, near the South Dunedin recreation ground, an open-faced silver geneva watch, No. 5242, gold dial and hands.

The warrant issued by the Oamaru Bench for the arrest of George Cohen, charged with embezzling £6O, the property of Joshua Tillet, has been cancelled.

The silver hunting lever watch, reported as lost at Dunedin, on the 10th instant, the property of Harrop and Neill, has been found and returned to the owners.

Vide Police Gazette, 1873, page 33. Johu Paterson, charged with uttering a valueless cheque for £5 to Richard Norman, atAlbertown, on the sth April last, has been arrested by Constable Gray Naseby police and committed for trial.

The ship’s stove, reported as stolen on the 20th inst., at Port Chalmers, the property of George Clarke, has been traced to the possession of William Jarman, who is in custody charged with stealing the same.

George Collins, charged on warrant with breaking open and stealing from a box in the dwelling of Ruben Kerry, at Blueskin, on the Bth instant, a gold chain and a quantity of clothing, the property of Alexander Grant, has been arrested by Sergeant Bevan, Dunedin police, and the greater portion of the stolen property recovered.
