£SO REWARD. A warrant has been issued by the Dunedin Bench for the apprehension of William Henry Hatch, charged with embezzling monies, the property of his . late employer, Frederick Luhning, hoot and shoe importer, Princes-street. The offender, is described as being about 38 or 40 years of age, 5 feet • 8 or 9 inches high, light hair, whiskers and beard, all cut short but not shaved, stout build, and of good appearance. Was last seen in Dunedin on sth June, and took a passage by steamer “ Wellington ” for some :of the Northern: Ports of New; Zealand on that date. Formerly had a hoot and shoe establishment in Collins-street East, near ' Swanston-street,. Melbourne. Offender is now supposed to be at'Hold tiki.
A warrant has been issued by the Dunedin Bench for the apprehension of Edward EUatt, charged with deserting his wife. He is described as being 33 years of age, 5 feet 2 or 3 inches high, stout build, round f shouldered, fair complexion, brown hair, long sandy whiskers worn round the chin ; supposed to he now mining- atHokitiki (Canterbury Province).
A warrant has been issued by the Dunedin 'Bench for the i apprehension of John Cumming, charged with deserting . his family. He.is described as being, about 20 years of ag-e, 5 feet 10 inches high, stout build, fresh complexion, black curly hair, no whiskers, dark eyes, wears a small goatee heard, a native ,of Devonshire, England; supposed to he now lodging at the Prince of Wales Hotel, Hokitiki ( Canterbury Province), and boating on the river.
• A warrant has been issued by the Dunedin- Bench for the arrest of one William Hendon alias Billy Kerr, charged with stealing- a dark bay cob horse branded ,M near shoulder, the property of Christian Barker, miner, Wetherstone’s. This horse is now in possession of one Johnston, a mail contractor from Dunedin to Hindon, who bought the same at the Provincial Sale Yards on the 21st April, 1865. ■ Heydon, is supposed to -be. now at the Hokitiki Diggings.
A warrant has been issued by the Dunedin Bench for the apprehension •of William Whittle, charged with * deserting, his children. He is described as being 30 .years: of. age, 5 feet 10 inches high, stout build, fair. complexion, light hair, little or no whiskers; supposed to be now at Hokitiki, Canterbury Province.
Neville Walker of Christchurch, 'Canterbury Province,' reports having had stolen from'Teremakau, on;or,about the sthMay, 1865, the following’ horses : A bay horse, branded 1 p on shoulder, A bay horse, branded ROE on shoulder, short tail. i A bay mare, 1 branded AY J - AT A dark bay .pony, branded , on near shoulder. A grey horse, branded on off shoulder, and 253 on near shoulder. A bay gelding, branded like JF conjoined ; on ’ three places, viz. ! thigh and each shoulder.
- One Thomas Webber is supposed to have stolen, the above. horses, he' havingbeen seen on the one first described at the Waitohi Gorge, Canterbury Province, and will probably make for Dunedin, or Nelson. The offender isdescribed as about 5 feet 9 inches high, 37 years of age, dark eyes, hair, and complexion, very .little whiskers,' which are shaved back, no moustache, speaks very quick, - supposed to be an Englishman.
George Henry Sharp, of the Crown Hotel,• Christchujch, . reports having' had stolen from his paddock, adjoining' the Christchurch Pound, on the ' 29th June, 1865, and supposed to have been.taken to Dunedin—oue dark brown . gelding, . 7 years, 16 hands high, star on. forehead, slightly collar marked, branded C B on near . shoulder. .. 25 lafe
