An inquest was: held on .the . sth April, 1865, at Luk’s Store, Murphy’s Flat, by Charles Broad, Esq., coroner, on the body of John McDonald, aged 40 years, a native of Scotland, who was accidentally billed on the 3rd April, 1865, through a quantity of earth falling - on him while mining - Verdict accordingly. An inquest was held on the 17th April, 1865, at the Hawkesburn Station (Nevis road), by Henry Jackson, Esq., coroner, on the body of Thomas’ Baxter alias John .

Baxter, aged 50 years an Accommodation house keeper on the Nevis road who was found dead in his hut on the 16th April, 1865. - Verdict, died from natural causes.
